SALTED EGG CHICKEN IN KFC INDONESIA?!! What?!!! This morning, I woke up with messages from my sis telling me that there’s Salted Egg Chicken in KFC Indonesia. I immediately check Go-Food apps and omg yesss the new menu is available starting 1st Feb 2018. Without hesitation, I ordered 3 pieces, my Gojek Abang told me that the new menu takes longer cooking time, so it took me a while to get my order delivered. Salted Egg Chicken costs IDR 20k a la carte or IDR Combo with 1 Salted Egg Chicken, Rice, and Pepsi can. If you notice, they added chili powder in the sauce, hence it has subtle spicy taste in it which is nice. Chicken is coated generously with pale yellow salted egg yolk sauce. It remains crispy when AnakJajan ate it. The salted egg yolk sauce has thick consistency, we can totally get the salted egg yolk taste. The sauce only tastes salty and savory, it’s not bad but a bit flat for us personally. Well, it’s still enjoyable but definitely not the best salted egg yolk sauce we’ve ever had though. Whisk egg yolk powder and curry powder. Add sugar. Add milk. Mix and turn fire off immediately. Mix with chicken and toss until coated. So, the verdict! At first the son wouldn’t eat it because he said it looks weird. He’s a chicken monster so that’s saying something. When he saw the father having several, he got curious and tasted it. Needless to say, there was nothing left and all left the table satisfied. Hooray! I heard that this is a Singapore dish so plus one for Anakin’s food and cooking experiences.
